About

I am Dr. Martha Higgins but my friends call me “Doc”.  I teach physical education to elementary students and have been doing so for the past 15 years.   I moved to New York City 18 years ago with the intent of getting my Doctorate from Columbia University,  I did so in 2004.

I enjoy traveling, hanging out with my family and friends, concerts, drive-in movies (they are all but extinct) and good seafood every now and then – the butter wrecks havoc on my cholesterol.   I think that academic performance and physical inactivity are linked, the concept of a healthy body and healthy mind definitely rings true.
